Nikki Portman: Columbus Flea Finds at Home
Nikki Portman is the founder of Columbus Flea.
Because of Columbus Flea, my closet has come to know many wonders. In addition to a healthy portion of my record collection, I’ve found everything from awesomely raggedy old rock tees, vintage furs and boots, stacks of necklaces, bracelets, rings and more.
And yet, among the gems, my favorite tends to be the fruity and floral frock pictured below. I found this vintage beauty at Spring Flea back in 2011. The spring collections that year featured an abundance of produce-inspired prints from the likes of Stella McCartney and Prada (citruses and bananas, respectively), and I had a hankering for a fruit-salad dress of my own.
Come Spring Flea, there she was just covered in bright flowers, watermelons and pineapples (which you may have noticed are currently having themselves a little moment)! A good fruit cocktail never goes out of style.
Now that Spring Flea is near (Sunday, May 4, at Seventh Son Brewing), and because the weather is finally on the upswing, it seems timely to showcase some more of the sunny style treasures that have been scavenged at fleas past.
I teamed up with some of my buds, Brooke LaValley (photographer) and Candice Putter (stylist), for a little home invasion. We dropped in on some of our friends at home with their finds. Take a look!

I love and admire the personal style (and envy the home décor) of each and every one of these fine ladies. It tickles me pink to see their flea finds so prominently pieced into their lives.
