Amanda Hope Cook Paints Signs of 'C-Bus'

Celebrate the city with artist Amanda Hope Cook this May as she debuts her exhibit “C-Bus” at Sharon Weiss Gallery.

Cook’s show features oil paintings of iconic Columbus signage, including Rife’s Market and the Fireproof Warehouse. Her hope is to “take the viewer beyond the literal wording of a sign, and emphasize the subtleties of light, shadow, color and shape,” she said in a release.

The exhibit opens this Friday, May 2, and runs through June 1. Sharon Weiss Gallery will host an artist’s reception from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday to introduce Cook, a Nashville native and CCAD grad, and her work.
