CMH Fashion Week: Meet the Designers
Name: Rachel Kaplan
Credentials: School: Graduated from Columbus College of Art & Design. Current employment: Currently an Associate Designer at Abercrombie & Fitch. Shows: Showed at CCAD Senior Fashion show for my senior collection in 2012. Competed in Condom Couture for three years, and my designs placed 1st for two years and 2nd for one year.
My story: I am a designer and model, so I feel integrated in every part of the fashion world. Being a model led me down the path of developing my own personal style and today, developing my brand and what I want out of it. I have and always will love fashion and will continue to evolve my designs and my experience as a fashion designer.
Style icon: Olivia Palermo or Rachel Zoe. They both have their own personal style and are not afraid to mix prints and take chances with fashion.
Favorite three pieces in your closet right now:
True style is... personality and confidence in your look.
This collection: My collection was inspired by the Rorschach Test, which is the psychology test given to patients to find their underlying personality. I wanted each look in my collection to convey a different personality of my girl. My collection is chic, soft, textural and filled with individual pieces that can be interchanged with others.
Are items shown in this collection for sale? If so, what are the price points? No, unfortunately, no items in this specific collection are for sale, but I do make piece upon inquires.
Do you do custom work? If so, what are the price points? Yes, I do custom work. Price points all depend on the piece and the materials and time needed for the piece.
