Top Three Fall Trends: Kitty Brigham

Kitty Brigham is the boutique manager at jinny boutique in the Short North.

1. I love what is going on with accessories right now, in particular handbags! Instead of schlepping everything into one large, overbearing, unorganized bag, the trend is going toward multiple bags, nesting pieces like smaller organizational clutches within a larger leather or canvas tote in addition to carrying your day bag. I think this makes sense for the modern women, and it is nice to see fashion catching up with technology by offering compartments that perfectly house your iPhone, iPads, etc.

2. Fur details of any sort, not to mention the dyed and printed fur seen this season makes for a much-needed update on a classic fashion statement! Fur trim on the lapels of blazers, unexpected colors and special fur trim on the hemlines of dresses, cuffs and fur belts have me lusting after all sorts of animal iterations. My favorite look is seeing a fitted coat topped by a cropped fur jacket.

3. Seeing ladies dress, well, more like ladies is always a welcome trend in my eyes. The looks that reference a '40s or '50s feminine chicness never go out of style, and I feel always have a place in fashion and should always have a place in a woman's wardrobe as well. The film noir, Hitchcockian sex appeal of this type of dressing is completely irresistible and timeless.
