CMH Fashion Week: Meet Jennifer Rose Diehl
The countdown to the CMH Fashion Week Bridal Show and Finale Runway Show is on. We're profiling the designers whose work you will see—and giving you a sneak peek of what will walk the runway. The bridal show is Oct. 11, and the finale Oct. 12; tickets are available at CMHFashionWeek.com. Today, meet Jennifer Rose Diehl of The Ritzy Rose.
Jennifer Rose Diehl of The Ritzy Rose – The Ritzy Rose began in 2010 with a vision to make a mark on the wedding industry by providing unique items. After just 10 months, Miranda Lambert carried their bouquet down the aisle in her wedding with Blake Shelton. CMH Fashion Week: Meet the Bridal Designers
Name: Jennifer Rose Diehl
Credentials: B.S. in Textile & Apparel Design from Cornell, 2003. Also studied at London College of Fashion, Central St. Martin's College of Art & Design, FIT. I own The Ritzy Rose, but before this became my full-time job, I designed gift sets and accessories for Bath & Body Works. Prior to that, I designed men’s and women's graphic knits for Abercrombie & Fitch. My career began in NYC designing for Tracy Reese, Banana Republic, Express and Victoria's Secret.
My story: Vintage drives everything I do, from an ecological standpoint as well as a purely style-driven perspective. It inspires my every design, and very often the materials I use are considerably older than I am. The key is using my eye and experience to modernize it and make it relevant today.
Personal style: Vintage updated with modern colors and cuts.
Style icon: Zooey Deschanel
Favorite designers: Tracy Reese, John Galliano, Amsale, Marc Jacobs, Madeleine Vionnet
Favorite three pieces in your closet right now: Vintage 1960s floral shift, hot pink Louboutins and Cynthia Rowley knit dress (I have it in 5 colors!).
True style is… confidence, and the desire to be different.
This collection: I wanted to update classic pearls with a punch of color in an unexpected scale. I mixed in elements such as chunky rhinestone brooches to keep it modern.
