CMH Fashion Week: Meet the Bridal Designers
Name: Joan Madison
Credentials: School: FIT (Fashion Institute of Technology), Syracuse, Owner of Joan's Bridal Couture
My story: Joan's designer ambitions started at an early age, when growing up in Queens, New York, she was known to make new, custom-fitted clothing for Barbie dolls and sell them in the school cafeteria out of her lunchbox. By the age of 13, she made a wedding gown for her very first bridal customer and upon graduating from high school, went on to study at the acclaimed Fashion Institute of Technology. After honing her professional skills in the New York Fashion District and at The Limited in Columbus, she went on to open her own full service bridal salon, Joan's Bridal Couture, in 2006.
