Meet Fashion Guest Blogger Josh Quinn

In honor of our July/August 2013 men's issue, we invited some local fashionable guys to write a guest blog about their personal style.

Josh Quinn is the owner of Short North boutique Tigertree

I moved to Columbus from LA (by way of a ton of other places), never imagining I would settle down here. But I fell in love with the city.

My wife and I started an accessories brand in LA, which in a round about way brought us here to open up a shop. Seven years and two moves later, we still love living and owning a business here and plan on being here as long as you'll have us.

All About Me
Josh Quinn

Age: 31

Gig: Proprietor, Tigertree

Personal style: Mod/Surf

Style icon: Paul Weller, Jarvis Cocker

Favorite designers: I am not just saying this because we carry it—Ben Sherman does a great job of classic tailored pieces that will remain staples in your wardrobe for years. Paul Smith consistently delivers clean, well-constructed pieces with a sense of humor.

Favorite three pieces in your closet: I have off-the-rack three-piece suits from Plectrum in both black and gray that I get a ton of wear out of. A gingham Ben Sherman blazer. My wetsuit.

Go-to outfit: Tassel loafers, colored chinos, blazer, white button-up

All-time favorite fashion splurge: I think I mostly bought it for the way I looked in it, so I’m going to say a 1970 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia.

All-time favorite fashion bargain: I don’t want to get anyone in trouble, but I had a rep from a particular brand who used to basically send me the whole season of samples every time.

True style is… Practically speaking, I think it’s the ability to understand the impact the way one presents themselves has on the way they are perceived by others.
